Abstract
VJ’s of recent years have begun to perceive increasingly diverse roles for visuals performers in live musical performances. True to their namesake, most VJs will “jockey” between these roles at various points in their careers, others have an affinity for a particular approach and will concentrate on one area.
This research aims to identify the primary points of divergence that separate different roles and approaches to VJing, and their manifestations in technique and execution. This will take us closer to an intellectual framework and language with which to discuss kinds of VJ performance.

Hi! I’m really interested in learning how to do some VJing with some of my DJ friends. I have no idea where to start. Do you have some advice for me. Where? Which programs to use, etc. THANKS, Mara
